The easiest fudge recipe ever!

Every hectic mum knows that kids love helping out in the kitchen when it comes to cooking (but not cleaning up!). While I was searching on the net for a quick and cheap recipe you can kill some time with the kids, I came across this fudge recipe on Tales from the Naughty Step.

~ Put 1 can of condensed milk in a microwavable container (quite a big one).

~ Add 1lb of chocolate chips (or break up some chocolate bars).

~ Put the mixture in the microwave on high for 1 minute.

~ Take it out and stir.

~ Alternate 30 seconds in the microwave with stirring until all the chocolate has melted.

~ Pour, or spoon, it into a suitable pan/dish/whatever is to hand and place in the fridge to set.

Top Tip from Tales from the Naughty Step: “Line your dish - the one you put in the fridge - with cling film.  It’s easier to remove the set fudge that way.”

Top Tip from The Hectic Mum: “If you want to make it a little bit more fancy then add rice puffs, Smarties or crushed up digestives to the mix before putting it in the fridge.”

~ Cut into squares/triangles/circles/whatever your kid feels like doing!

~ Give to the little ones to occupy them for a short time at least!

And that’s that! Even though it’s not quite the authentic fudge you buy from Thorntons, it’s a pretty great substitute which is cheaper and the kids won’t taste the difference!
