The results are in for Net Mums’ Birth Order survey
So Net Mums’ Great British Birth Order survey has thrown up a couple of interesting results.
Â
Keep a close eye on your eldest child, as most mums believe that they’re more likely to suffer from anxiety and/or depression compared to younger children. On the other hand, mums said they identify more with their oldest child – perhaps because we’re all anxious and depressed too! Misery loves company… Still on the elder child and 35% of mums believe that their first born is more likely to succeed academically, which could be true if you look at famous first borns like Richard Branson and Winston Churchill.
Â
When it comes to being happy in life, most mums agree that their youngest child will take that title – which Net Mums thinks is down to them not having the burden of academic success on them like their older siblings. Youngest children Cameron Diaz and Jim Carey always seem quite happy…although didn’t he announce he was suffering from depression a few years ago? And I always read headlines about Cameron being ‘devastated’ and ‘depressed’ after various relationship break ups.
Â
Middle children, I’m afraid, seem to be neither here nor there in this survey – sorry Madonna.
Â
With me only being a mum of one (for the time being!) I’ve got all this to look forward to. What do other mums think? Do the results ring true for you? Or does it seem like a load of rubbish?
Â
You can also take Net Mums quiz where they guess which position in the family you are (although they got me wrong) and have a laugh at their description of you.
