Great - another half term!
So, what have you got planned for your kids this half term? The weather isn’t too bad oop North at the moment so I’m taking full advantage of that for my plan - to embrace the great outdoors! It can’t do me any harm and Kian loves being out in the sun - I just hope the weather holds out!

Autumn half term
I thought it might be fun to go on a few trips to local parks and other places with great gardens (and if they organise their own activities, even better!) While I wander around enjoying the scenary and the fresh air, Kian can run about with his football and jump in to piles of leaves - quite easily entertained really!
I’m planning to collect some leaves as well and a few other bits like that to make collages and paint with if we get stuck indoors and Mr Hectic Mum has promised to have a go at playing conkers with Kian if I collect a couple of those.
I’ll also be spending this week finalising Kian’s Halloween outfit (which so far consists of…nothing) and stocking up on sweets for the trick-or-treaters. I’ll also be picking up a scary DVD for Friday night so I’ll stock up on a couple to keep Kian occupied too with it getting darker a lot earlier - although I’m counting on him being tired out from running around outside all day and going to bed early!
If you fancy a few bigger days out there is a great article on Love Money with plenty of tips and 2-4-1 vouchers for places like Alton Towers and Chessington World of Adventures. That is if your kids are tall enough to go on the rides!
Seeing as this week is all about gearing up for Halloween, why not have a look at some of the Halloween events listed on iVillage?
If you don’t fancy trick-or-treating, why not host your own party for the kids? Netmums has some great ideas for games and treats and I’ll be uploading a post tomorrow with a few flashes of inspiration!
Enjoy yourself!
