The Perfect Bath
Bathtime…ahh a time of bliss, relaxation and transportation to a world of no stress! As you might guess, I love buying the latest monthly glossy, putting on some relaxing music and taking a long soak in a steaming hot bath. It really helps me to unwind and relax my muscles, a god send when its coming to the end of a hard week at work.
Now i know that i have this love of baths in common with a lot of my friends, both mums and non-mums, so i thought i’d put a post about how to achieve the perfect bath for optimum relaxation - just in time for this weekend! I’ve had a look at some holistic books, living magazines and listened to advice and below are my top tips. If you have any which you think would enhance the experience then please let me know!

Bathing essentials
- Baths salts
- Bubble bath oil
- Bath Pillow
- Scented candles
- Relaxing music
- Book/glossy magazine
- Fluffy towel and bathrobe
5 Luxurious Steps to the Perfect Bath
1. Create a soothing atmosphere with scented candles and calming music and turn the lights down/off. Put a fluffy towel and bathrobe on the radiator ready for when you get out.
2. Add bath salts and oils to the bathwater whilst the water is running. The best scented essential oils to use are listed below and all you need to add is ten drops of your chosen essential oil to the bath for best results and then relax and enjoy.
 Rosemary: energizing and stimulating
 Rose: heart opening and soothing
Eucalyptus: for sore muscles or respiratory congestion
 Chamomile: relaxing
 Lavender: regenerative and soothing
 Jasmine: creates sense of well-being
Orange: eases respiratory or digestive problems
3. After you’ve read your magazine/book, use natural soaps (coconut is a good one) and a soft loofah to lather up some bubbles!
4. To smooth the skin and stimulate circulation, use a salt or sugar scrub to help exfoliate rough elbows and knees (I’ve got a gorgeous mango sugar scrub from the Body Shop). Use a natural pumice stone to soften callused feet.
5. After your bath, continue the luxury by moisturizing your skin body oil or lotion and then wrap yourself up in your cosy towel and then when you’re dry, your bathrobe.
