Keeping kids safe on the road – National Road Victim Awareness month

My little boy Kian aka Evil Kenevil currently has no road safety awareness, in fact it’s fair to say he has even less than our dog Baloo which is saying something. As August is National Road Victim Awareness month, I was staggered by the facts that some 30 million people have been killed on the world’s roads since 1896 when records began, and every year sees a further 1.2 million killed and 30 million injured! Those statistics are enough to shock anyone into reinforcing road safety to their children.

Yes, I know, pretty serious stuff but it’s one of the things that I think, as parents, we worry about the most. How many times have you drilled into your kids “Stop, look left, look right, look left again and go”? I still remember the little hedgehogs in the road safety advert a few years ago.

Nobody puts baby in the corner

Here’s one for all the hectic mums (and dads) out there who think dancing would be a great hobby for their child to take up.

Evian water has just launched its new Baby Break Dancing advert and it’s fantastic!

I don’t 100% agree with Fred Astaire when he said “Some people seem to think that good dancers are born, but all the good dancers I have known are taught or trained” - I think these babies could’ve given him a run for his money…

And here’s a little snippet from one baby’s audition tape…

Can he kick it? Yes he can!

Here’s one for all those dads (and mums!) who want their kids to grow up to be famous footballers.

I thought at first this might have been an ad for children’s branded sportswear but it’s actually for the Child Trust Fund.

I don’t remember it being on TV, but it’s available from YouTube and is very funny.
